A simple rule: 1 cubic metre = roughly 4 large wheelie bins. Use this guide to pick the right size.
≈ 16 wheelie bins worth of waste
Bathroom reno · Kitchen cleanout · Garden clear · Single room reno
≈ 25 wheelie bins worth of waste
Full home reno · Builder's bin · Office cleanout · Large garden
≈ 33 wheelie bins worth of waste
Demolition · Large commercial · Deceased estate · Major construction
Not sure? Always go one size up — it's cheaper than ordering a second bin.
How long is the standard hire period?
7 days standard. Need longer? Just call us — we don't charge extra as long as you give us notice.
Can I put the bin on my driveway?
Yes, but be aware a heavy bin can crack or damage driveways. We recommend placing timber planks underneath to protect the surface. We'll always discuss placement with you on delivery.
How wide does the access need to be?
Our trucks need at least 3 metres of clear width with no sharp bends, low-hanging wires or trees. Not sure? Give us a call before booking and we'll check.
Do I need a council permit?
Only if the bin needs to go on a public road or verge. On your own property — no permit needed. If you need street placement, you will need to arrange the permit directly with your local council before delivery.
Is there a weight limit?
Yes — no more than half the bin can contain heavy material such as bricks, concrete, sand or soil. Bins exceeding safe weight limits cannot be collected and a $225 return trip fee applies. If you have a large amount of heavy material, call us first and we can arrange the right solution.
Can I overfill the bin?
No — it is illegal in Perth to transport overfilled bins or bins with items protruding. If your bin is overfilled on collection, we will not be able to pick it up and a $225 return trip fee will apply when we come back. To avoid this, always go one size up if you're unsure.
What happens if prohibited items are found in my bin?
If prohibited or hazardous items are found in the bin at collection, we will refuse pickup until the items are removed by the customer. If the bin has already been collected and contamination is discovered at the disposal facility, any contamination fees charged to Rapid Skips will be passed on to the customer in full. If you're unsure about an item, call us before putting it in.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash, bank transfer and credit/debit card. Payment is required before or on delivery.
Do you recycle the waste?
Yes. We responsibly sort and recycle as much waste as possible, diverting materials from landfill wherever we can.
